Celebrating the Timeless Legacy of William Shakespeare
Description : Today, our school transformed into a vibrant literary world as we celebrated the birth anniversary of the greatest dramatist, William Shakespeare, an occasion also observed as World Book Day. The celebration was organised with the objective of instilling the importance of books in students’ lives in this increasingly digital world.
Students of Classes XI and XII shared their contrasting views in a debate on the topic “Is Shakespeare Still Alive in Our World?”, presenting thoughtful and confident arguments. Students of Classes IX and X participated in an elocution on “A Man for All Ages: William Shakespeare,” where they expressed their admiration for the timeless contributions of William Shakespeare.
Students of Classes VI to VIII visited the library, read Shakespearean plays, and took part in a Book Review Competition, where they presented their views with enthusiasm and insight. Even the youngest learners of Classes I and II joined the celebration as little enthusiasts learners. They were given storybooks to read and then narrated the stories, making the activity both engaging and meaningful.
The school premises reflected the spirit of the occasion, as bulletin boards were beautifully decorated on the theme of William Shakespeare.
The celebration beautifully highlighted the importance of books and the timeless legacy of Shakespeare. It inspired students to develop a love for reading and to appreciate literature in today’s digital age.
